should i use oil paint or should i switch to watercolor because i heard oils are toxic?
i keep hearing some ppl say oils are ok to use just dont eat it… and i hear others say dont use it because the solvents used with it are toxic and it has long term effects. AND if i dont use oils then i will probably use watercolor but some of the paints hav cadmium in them like oils and idk if thats too toxic and will have a long term bad effect on my health. HEEELPPP im so confused on what to do!
Acrylics would be a substitute for oil paints since the techniques are very similar. Watercolor painting is a whole other animal and more difficult to learn. Oil painting does use chemical solvents and other chemicals which can have powerful odors but they are generally safe as long as you don’t ingest them or have skin exposure for long periods. It’s just a stinky medium compared to others.
No fear, paint away and have fun!
