I’m looking for a recipe for banana bread?
I saw this recipe in a magazine, either, Woman’s Day, New Idea or Better Homes and Gardens.. The recipe included 3 very ripe banana’s, brown sugar, baking powder. There was a picture of the loaf in the Mag as well. My magazine seems to have been accidentally thrown out, it would have been in a mag sometime in 2008 maybe from April – Nov? The banana bread turned out just like it does in the shop, and others just don’t do it… hope someone can help!!!!
i looked on all of the magazine’s websites for the recipe and this is the closest one i could fine (it is the only one that had brown sugar in it)…if this isn’t it i could have missed it on one of the sites, so you could go to their recipe sections and see if you can find it (they all have a few different ones that all look tasty to me! lol)…
Banana Bread (from New Idea)
1 cup mashed banana
1 / 4 cup golden syrup
3 / 4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 / 4 cup vegetable oil
1 / 4 cup milk
1 1 / 3 cups self-raising flour
Icing sugar mixture and ribbon, to decorate
Grease four 10cm x 18cm loaf pans. Line base and sides with baking paper. Place pans on two oven trays.
Combine banana, syrup and sugar in a large bowl. Stir in eggs, oil and milk. Add flour
and stir until combined. Divide mixture among prepared pans.
Cook in a moderate oven (180C) for about 1 hour, or until cooked when tested, swapping trays halfway through cooking. Stand for 5 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool.
Dust with sifted icing sugar and decorate with ribbon.
hope this helps! =)
