What to do with finished latch hook rugs?
Okay so for the past few years I’ve been making latch hook rugs. They take up too much space and I was wondering if there is a way to sell these? I don’t really have people to sell them to, and I was wondering how one would go about getting rid of these projects while not throwing away all your cash. I am afraid to sell them on ebay because someone might accidentally be deceived and think that it was an unfinished latch hook kit, and be surprised to find a completely finished rug at their doorstep. Any suggestions?
There shouldn’t be any problem selling on eBay if you say they are finished rugs rather than unfinished kits and include a picture, but it’s a good idea to search completed listings first to see if they actually sell. etsy.com is another site where people sell completed handcrafts. If you have consignment shops in your area, they may be willing to sell the rugs for you. I have some that I’ve hung on the wall as art, and I have also used some as tops for chair cushions or throw pillows.
Unfortunately, though, in general this is one of the class of craft projects where the unused kit often sells for more than the completed item. If selling doesn’t work out, you may wish to restrict yourself to rug projects where you have a specific use or recipient in mind, or else put some of your energy into a less expensive craft like friendship bracelets, for instance.
