What is the breakdown of “My heart leaps up” by wordsworth in terms of theme, tone, and imagery?
well, I don’t know if I can give you the exact “correct answer” but I’ll give it my best shot. The theme (or lesson) of the poem is about appreciating nature and beauty. His heart leaps up when he beholds a rainbow no matter what his age or circumstance. If he can’t appreciate that, he says “Or let me die!” “The child is the father of the man” I think means that adults should learn from children to appreciate simple things around them like rainbows for example. The tone I think is a positive one. He is trying to get across the message of appreciating the beauty of nature. There isn’t much imagery in this poem. If any it would be in the first two lines.
I hope this was helpful!
